Toyota Holding On.

Twenty-two and a half down. One and a half to go. Thierry Boutson is behind the wheel of the Toyota GT One #29, which remains 45 seconds in front of the Porsche GT1 #26 driven by Allan McNish. While McNish is carving precious seconds from the lead time, Boutson has been a very capable pilot all race long.

At this point, the only question that remains is whether or not the Toyota will have to replace the brakes before the end of the race. If so, it's very possible that the Porsche will resume the lead. Both cars pitted just a few moments ago, almost simultaneously, to get fresh tires and fresh drivers. Things have been holding fairly true to form for the past two hours. Toyota is definitely in the driver's seat.

The Porsche GT1 #25 remains in third, trailing the leader by more than a lap.
