Porsche, Toyota Duke It Out Into The Morning.

By Joe Hansen

With four-and-a-half hours remaining in this year's running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Porsche and Toyota GT1s are dueling for the lead. Both the Porsche #26, currently being driven by Stephane Ortelli, and the Toyota #29 piloted by two individuals (Boutsen and Kelleners) who drove for Porsche last year, are on the same lap. At the moment, the Toyota is out in front by approximately 50 seconds. But the cars are pitting out of sequence from each other, resulting in frequent lead changes.

Radio Le Mans currently estimates that, if both vehicles have a run at the flag free of mechanical problems, Porsche would be forced to pit one more time than Toyota. Of course, as we've seen throughout the past 18 hours, things can change. Quickly.

Rounding out the top five: Porsche #25, Nissan #30, Nissan #32. All five are within two laps of one another.

Stay tuned for more news as it breaks...
