Inside, the New 911 demonstrates a more emotional design than its purely
functional forefathers. Yet even with new shapes and sculpting designed
to carry the feeling of the exterior, the 911's interior remains
imminently driver-oriented.The gauge cluster, punctuated by the traditional center-mounted tach, features tightly grouped readouts making each easily visible through the steering wheel. A digital speed indicator in the tach, complimenting the analog speedometer to the left, facilitates even faster decision making. And the wider cockpit means the driver's movement is unrestricted. A larger cockpit also means larger rear seats. The Porsche 911, now more than ever, is the only sports car in which a family of four can enjoy supercar-quality performance. But perhaps the most welcome aspect of the New 911's more spacious interior is added storage space. With 4.59 cubic feet in the front luggage compartment and another 2.3 behind the folding rear seats, there's no reason to limit the length of your travels, meaning you can spend more time on the road. After all, in the words of Automobile Magazine, "There has never been a more complete 911." To read Automobile Magazine's complete design analysis, click here.
